Yeah I read that only ALL FLASH built-in storage will be updated, not mechanical, not fusion, at least not yet. But Oh wait, mine is APFS, so there you have it, thunderbolt connected external drives are treated like internal storage. Don't think a USB3 enclosure would have made it :)

I'm getting audio dropouts...

Edit: DERP! I inactivated all plugins, and reactivated one by one. Ozone 7 was the culprit. For some reason it reverted to demo mode. Reauthorized it and all is well.

NB: the installation is HFS+ format, not APFS, since it's an external HD.

UPDATE: actually, the McDSP v5 plugins are *not* working on 10.13 (with APFS). i believe that this is because they are Carbon based (the Carbon API having, apparently, been deactivated in High Sierra). The McDSP v6 plugins are ok. Anyway this is a dealbreaker for me...

Just loaded up macOS High Sierra on my "unsupported" 8-core 2008 Mac Pro (3,1) using the "patcher" (available at http://dosdude1.com/highsierra/). I'm running Pro Tools 12.6 on a "non-critical" system with UAD2 plugs.

Everything is working flawlessly so far. CPU performance is actually much better with way fewer "spikes" that used to throw buffer overrun errors. I've been able to reduce the buffer size a couple notches without ill effect.

Of course, your mileage may vary.
