12.7 and Kontakt

Anyone having issues with the latest version of Kontakt with 12.7? On a job and we keep having issues where Kontakt loses information on any sounds that have a looped sound in them. In Output Signal and Heavyocity Scoring Guitars, the loop quits playing and you only get the initial strike of the note and PT shows the note is being sustained, but the VI isn't playing the full rhythmic looped sound. If I 'play' the sound directly from the Kontakt keyboard in the VI interface the note just plays the 1st note but not the looped sound when I hold the note down.

When using Symphobia, Orchestral Tools strings and Spitfire libraries no issues, but they don't have rhythmic looped sounds we are using with them.

I've trashed preferences etc.

Any thoughts on this? Scary as we are on a deadline!

I'm seeing this as well. I've been Fighting this for a while now. NI seems to have no answer for this. It isn't happening in other DAWs, only in Pro Tools.

The only workaround I've found is to constantly reload samples.

Wow!! Total freak out over here. Some of the sounds are tweaked by us. Very freaky and scary. What happens if we have to redo things at a later date?

Your best bet is purchase Vienna Ensemble Pro and use it as a host outside of Pro Tools - either on the same computer or a seperate computer on a network. That's how most get around PT terrible handling of VI's. Rarely ever have issues using it. Good luck!

These are the issues that really make me angry. And it seems that Structure doesn't work any better than Kontakt. Several years ago, I bought K when it was almost the same amount to upgrade Structure as it was to PURCHASE NI Komplete. These issues are unacceptable, Avid.

Own and have used VEP for many years, but was hoping purchasing the latest computer with 64 gigs of RAM and all SSD drives would mean most projects I could forget VEP.

A huge drag.... Seems like ProTools and VIs will never work easily and it is certainly getting old. I've used PT since 1998 and keep hoping the VI midi situation will be "Pro" tools.

I didn't keep the latest version of Kontakt installed long enough to know.
The new UI was too much a strain on my eyes when reading the fonts.
A bit blurry.
Fortunately, I had a previous installer and re-installed that.
It's a couple versions back but never had a problem with previous versions.
Easier on my eyes reading things.
Plus, I like the color coded keys better.
Anyway, this is kind of a useless reply since I can't verify any issues.

so you are saying this issue is NOT present in Kontakt 5.5.2 .. but is in the newest verion of Kontakt 5.6 and above ????

i also use 5.5.2 as i do NOT like the new GUI .. old man and small fonts !!!

I've been having issues with all NI products for a few versions now. They suck at providing support. I'm slowly replacing all their stuff with other libraries.
