Default 7.2. - first few days...

Hi, a few have asked for an update offline, so I thought I'd post here:

In the mids of a hectic 18 hour/day scedule (and the much desired need for multiple videos on a timeline) I installed 7.2, totally prepare for it to sink my work-flow to my knees. I've been happily suprised. However, not all has been good:

- Panning: still haven't found a way to do the same "control"-mouseclick snap panning with linked channels in the panning windows

- region-bin bug is still present (see my other postings)

- one-time occasion: One of the sessions I'd saved and worked on... opened up completely void of any audio files present. I had to go back to a backup.

- Merging tracks: (this is not 7.2 specific): when merging tracks beyond 192, protools continues to try to shuffle DSP. merging a 160 track session into a 192 track session takes on average 1.5 hours. Doing this 3 times per day... is 4.5 hours lost.

- in 2 days, I've had 3 crashes, so that's not bad.

What's been the best feature of 7.2 so far for me ?

- Multiple movies on timeline
- output of mp4 movies through DV
- VCA groups
- Destructive Punch

Still can't:
- open multiple audio suite windows
- store window sets
- 'snap' windows (like photoshop etc.)
- (bunch of other stuff

Happy wednesday !

One quick thing - try control+command click in the panner window to "snap" the panner to that location. I posted this in another thread for someone else who had that problem. ( FYI, this issue has been forwarded on to our Tech Pubs department ).

Hi andrew,

This only works for one side. it doesn't work for linked panners on stereo tracks like "control" used to work.

i was the other one in the other thread
