Selection change after record stops

What is the reason why PT 2018 (and also PT 12) changes the timeline selection after record pass? As I remember PT 10 did not use to do that.

This is what always happen :

1) While in record (recording eg. something from Track 1 via some aux into MIX track), i make some selection in Track 1 (eg. I hear some mistake).

2) When i press numeric "0", recording stops, but the MIX track (record enabled) is suddenly also selected and ALSO the part of the clip in that track, so now i have the selection of TWO tracks and clip parts, instead of selection of a part of one clip I had before.

So annoying, when I just want to process previously selected part (with AudioSuite). Anyone knows how to prevent this?

What are your settings for: "Link Timeline and Edit Selection" and "Link Track and Edit Selection"?

I have tried to have them both ON, both OFF or only one of them ON at the time - always experiencing the same problem, regardless of the status of these two

what happens if you make your selection the Timeline Ruler instead of inside a Clip ??

Making selection in the Timeline ruler makes selection only in itself or in all tracks in the session, depending on the two mentioned buttons statuses. The thing is I need to make a selection just in one clip in one track and keep this selection even after stopping the recording.

i understand what you are saying .. just trying to help you troubleshoot to see if the Selection happens in the track you wish after recording by selecting in the timeline .. but you say it will not, so just disregard ..

Btw when I make a selection in the Timecode ruler, then pres RECORD and then stop, it does not make a selection in Record Enabled Track. (Unless Link Timeline and Edit selection button is ON - then the selection in the ruler selects that area in all tracks at once).

NOW, i just tried this here and if you let the Highlighted Selection Recording finish on it's own (without hitting stop in the transport) the new recorded track is NOT highlighted .. i think this is what you desire !!!

and i see same as you if i use the Transport Stop button of any form, in the transport, or a key command .. and for note: same thing happens in Dynamic Transport ..

Sure, when the record pass of a pre-selection finishes, the clip in recorded track is not selected. BUT if in the meantime (during recording) you try to select any part of any clip in any other track, then after the recording stops at its selected end, the same problem occurs - I end up with my clip selected and the same part selected in record enabled track as well.
It did not behave like this in PT 10 so I still believe there must be a way to turn this behavior off.

i can fire up PT10 if you are positive it behaves differently .. i have it on a separate bootable drive ..

i have tried every Pref / Control i can find and cannot get it to change YET !!!
