Sluggish workstation performance
I'm trying out the control app on my wife's old iPad 2 and PT 11.3.1 on MBP retina.
I know that's not supported and it's a bummer that I don't get meters. I'm noticing that Pro Tools, and my computer in general, act sluggish while eucontrol and the control app are running. Clicking around Pro Tools while editing, any menu dialogs that come up, even switching to finder (which also shows soft keys on the app) are a bit delayed. I think this must be because it's communicating all that to the iPad app, which is refreshing with new screens and buttons, updating selections and such... and the iPad is old and slow. I'm wondering if people with new iPads are having the same slowdown? Or do the fast iPads not cause sluggish behavior on the computer? I know I'm using an unsupported configuration, but if I ever want to get a newer iPad and actually use this thing, I want to know that it will perform nicely. I figure that if everybody had what I'm experiencing, they would be squawking about it. Anybody have assurances for me? |
