There were no 'release notes' in the installer package for Mac. Didn't they used to be in there?

Hah! So that gives us a clue - Apple is messing with our systems remotely ;-)

Or, the services that are baked into the system desperately try to connect to external servers, which are not available. I noticed similar situation (not that severe as today's one - i literally started to think that my boot SSD is full of read errors all of the sudden) when i lost internet connection for a while, a number of times programs would launch very slowly - for example pro tools. I always figured that they are 'phoning home' so to speak.

The Read Me files contain some compatibility info and known issues, and the What's New doc covers enhancements with a decent amount of detail. The Release Notes (in the KB) started with the 12.0 release, and are a good summary of changes with each version. I'd recommend starting with the Release Info KB since that has (or links to) most of the info you'd want (including the docs and KBs mentioned). See avid.secure.force.com/pkb/articles/download/Pro-Tools-2020-11-Release-Info for today's release.

Sorry, but that didn't happen.
I have the 1-year subscription plan (educational), but when I downloaded and installed 2020.11 Melodyne was not installed. I cannot find it either under my Avid Master Account.

BTW, it would be nice to have that "included Melodyne Essential" mentioned in the WHat's New pdf. It only says "integrated", but not how.

Did it. Installers took forever. Apparently “about a minute”
Means “about half an hour”.

Had to turn off dark mode right away. I am a big fan of dark mode in general but this implementation just hurt my eyes. And it’s really hard to see which plugins are active and inactive. Deal breaker.

I think I’ll start using track bounce instead of export selected as file for exporting mixes (i print my mixes through my Neve 8816) since they added pre-sets.

But really not feeling like I’m getting much at all for $400 a year. And have felt this way for a while.

Thanks jeffro for the response, but still no luck.
First of all, that link for the free gift was at the top of the website, not the bottom. Now I got that, but it only adds the product with the serial number to my account page. The link for troubleshooting only says to reinstall Pro Tools if it isn't there yet. So installed Pro Tools now four times but still, also downloaded the installer again, it doesn't. Melodyne is not installed.

Just trying to understand. If it says it comes with the installation, where is the actual Melodyne app coming from, is it in the 2.02GB installer file, or does it pull it from somewhere else as a separate installation step?
