Making the switch Windows to Mac
I just have some questions on this switch.
1. If I switch from windows protools to mac pro tools, will old files still work? Also if I upgrade to a new protools will my old files still work? 2. Does anyone know if the Project Mix works well with Mac? 3. Would this be a good idea to even switch from windows to mac? I just bought a new Mac Book Pro and I love it and I have had nothing but problems with window computers I'm sick of it really. That's all I got Thank you for your time! Mike |

Re: Making the switch Windows to Mac
1. Yes, yes
2. Yes 3. I don't think you'll get anyone on the mac forum telling you it's not a good idea to switch to MAC Windows = The biggest tangled ball of string ever!

Re: Making the switch Windows to Mac
Good plan. The way to make this decision is to choose the one you like to work with.

Re: Making the switch Windows to Mac
I have a Project Mix and have used it with 7.3, 7.4 and currently 8.0cs2
and all works fine here on a Macbook 2.0 Core Duo. Just make sure whatever Mac you go to,stuff as much RAM as you can afford or will allow into it and you'll be all set. but then, thats true regardless of any app or computer used for audio. As for OSX, you'll LOVE it!. There's hardly anything you have to tweak and it really is an operating system meant for musicians who don't need to waste precious time keeping it maintained. I've NEVER had a single OS crash at all in the 3 years I've had my mac. Just follow the tips in the Digi threads posted above and you'll be rocking. |
