Default New GUI

??? New GUI ???

I was just wondering if the GUI was getting a face list?

I mean, I love the new color scheme. But, I was talking about the workspace.

this workspace will combine the mixer view and arrange view together that is optimize for a 24" or bigger screen. This GUI looks at the work flow efficiency. This can be as an option to the double monitor view.

Yes, yes like Studio1 or Sonar.

But, on the real.... one large screen would be Ideal

Default Re: New GUI

Are you talking about the Mix and Edit windows or the Workspace window?

The Mix and Edit window are freely scale-able, so you can just drag them how you want or try WINDOW>Arrange>Tile or Tile Horizontal

Then you can have both the Mix and Edit showing, then adjust to fit your taste.

That's pretty similar to the Skylight interface in Sonar X2

While there are some aspects of the Sonar Skylight interface I like, like tabbing, and some of the options, I still find Pro Tools to be much easier to work in. Maybe this is because of bias and I have use PT much longer, but that's the case for me.

Personally I like to have my Mix and Edit windows at full screen, usually one on each monitor, but if I'm just using one monitor, simply use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + = to toggle quickly back and forth.

Or maybe if you prefer, use the Edit window Quick Menu to add things like Inserts, Comments, ect... to the Edit Window view so you can see many things right from that window.

ALSO you can create your own window configurations and save them and switch to them when needed. Go to the included PT11 reference guide PDF, press Ctrl+F and type in Window Configuration or just go to Page 180 to learn about this feature.

Hope that helps.
