Is there a reason you guys want this.

I understand if its these two things...

1. The cost to upgrade.
2. The cost of having to get a new interface / cause the one your using now is unsupported in 11.

and I get it if this is it those reasons... Other than that I can't see why here.. and really if 10 is working so good for you that you don't want to stir the pot by upgrading to 11 then who cares? Just use your system that is obviously working good enough for you to want pt 10 to be on mavericks..

And reality here is that what I have seen and read it will work on Mavericks the only problem will be an uninstall has to be done manually, but I have also seen a specific outline on how to do so.

I guess I'm just curios because I see a lot of these PT 10 on mavericks posts threads and I just don't understand.

I am waiting till my main list of plug ins I don't want to have to live without are ready for PT 11 then going wit PT 11. I will have a clone system drive with PT 10 for the unlikely scenario where I will need it.

Most of my plug ins are there... a couple more to go. I'm looking at the next 2-3 weeks to go PT11 and not look back, well maybe use that clone PT 10 install a few times, but other than that...

OK I can help you understand:
•if your machine dies and you want to buy a new machine from Apple you are only going to get a machine that supports Mavericks.
•if you have a 2008 Mac Pro AND you want to upgrade to HDX but you still have a number of plug-ins that are PT 10 only you are painted into a corner.
• There are still a very large number of TDM users that NEED PT HD 10
and now my situation,
• I am setting up another studio I bought another HDX system and I need system compatibility and still need PT HD 10.

There are a number of bugs in Pro Tools 11 that don't exist in PT 10 - so PT 11 is no go for me 100% of the time.

And for the icing on the cake Avid PROMISED support for TDM users beyond 2013

From their Web Page "Please note that we will continue to offer software updates and address issues for legacy hardware for the foreseeable future."

Yeah, in terms of TDM compatible plug ins... Ok, I get it. and Yeah on a New Mac Mavericks is it.

I have just helped 2 people research and purchase 12 core mac pros (5,1) machines not the new black ones. and the prices are reasonable and the benchmarks (for what its worth) are VERY good even compared to the new Mac Pro. And since the new Black ones have been released there are quite a few options for these.

But anyway, I see... I guess I would want it to run on a new mac as well if I was still in HDX/TDM land.

Thanks for explaining and not flaming... I was truly curious around the reasoning.
