Any success stories running PT 10 & 11HD on Mac OS 10.7.5?

I have Mac Pro 2009, OS 10.7.5, Pro Tools HDx 10.3.6HD and was wondering if I really MUST update my system to Mountain Lion in order to try PT 11 HD along?
Has anybody tried similar combination and had some success?
