Default Which MBox

Hi I'm running a MBP (2.66ghz Intel Core Duo // 4GB 1067 MHz). System: 10.7.2

I had an MBox 1 running ProTools LE 7.4 - now redundant.

I used this for vocal recording and mixing at home (multiple channels are a must).

What is the cheapest but most effective replacement I can get? I'm looking for parity, basically.

Thanks

Since you mentioned "multiple channels" I would suggest the new Mbox 3 Pro bundled with PT9, which gives you a free upgrade to 10.

You may already know this, but you won't be able to use 7.4 on OS Lion.

Whatever you do; do NOT get the mbox3 mini.
Everything is great except for one big thing: no mono button!
If you stick your mic in channel 1, and monitor the input you only get the mic in the left side.
And whatever you put in channel 2 will always be in the right side. And since it's USB you get at last 128 samples latency if you want to monitor via pt to overcome the left/right issue.

+1 on not mini. The pres in the Pro & the mbox are better.

Both have some low mic gain issues but unless you are doing chamber music with low output mics, you won't have a problem.
