I think the most frustrating thing in general is if all these more minor tweaks and fixes were actually implemented, we'd all really get to enjoy our expensive hardware so much more along with us controlling more things from the surfaces instead of constantly realizing things are still way way faster with a mouse.

It's unbelievably frustrating, especially with a client sitting next to me.

Sometimes smaller fixes should be a higher priority than the larger ones or adding any new features.

exactly. I've been putting up lists of things that should really be fixed on the S3, including banking, visual feedback on automation modes, spilling memory locations on the lcd's just like on the digi003, custom coloring for the soft keys, plug-in focus,...

All of these are so simple to implement. How long would it take a somewhat decent programmer to implement all of this ? 2 hours? half a day? Given Avid never tests its stuff, but leaves that to the early adopters it might even be less. Yet it would make the S3 a useful, almost very nice controller. Except of course the obvious hardware design blunders like the SEL buttons and the touch strip...
