Default session "freezes" for a few seconds when I hit the record button

First of all, pardon my English.

My problem is, when I hit the record button, pro tools "freezes" for a few seconds and only after that pause it starts recording. It doesn't happen when I'm editing just when I start recording, everything stops for a few seconds and it's really annoying. I've changed the buffer size and it still happens, it seems it's not a CPU issue. And I've already cleaned databases and preferences.

Any idea?

Thanks!

What version of Protools do you have? The pause/play issue was resolved in v8.0.1 if this is your problem. If not we need more specs.

Your english is actually pretty good.

you might have "count off" selected-
try looking at your transport window.

if that's not it,
check the pref that allocates disk recording space
(under the operations tab)
if it says "use all available space" or something like that,
change it to a smaller number
e.g. just over the length of the song.

Thank you guys!

It was indeed the record allocation, I changed it to a smaller number and it worked out.

How much RAM is allocated to PT in task manager when this happens?

I'm not sure Tom, it only happened a couple times under pressure, I'm probably not giving PT enough time to complete a task or something. But it was supposed to have been fixed in V8 and as I said has reared its ugly head again.
