Cedar C-vox vs VoiceX - difference?

Does anyone here know the difference between Cedar C-Vox and VoiceX?

Both in practical terms using it and in technical terms.

I think VoicEX is tailored more toward Post Production dialog where C-Vox is more for music and home studio noise.

I have C Vox and I don't really use it much on post production. Dx Revive Pro has been my new goto as well as Clear.

VoicEX is think is also more for real time NR, so it is more for mixing anyway. A bit expensive as well.

I've never used the C-Vox as I don't have UAD. But I always assumed it was based on DNS and wasn't any sort of AI process like VoiceX.

C-Vox is okay. Its not great but not without use. Probably close to DNS but very limited.

I had run across noisy ADR studios as talent was all over the place and it was very helpful.

But Dx Revive Pro does even better, so Its basically an unused plugin now.
And Clear is even better.

The DXRevive Pro is awesome for kind of restoring of the audio, while Clear is more like an effective noise reduction and reverb reduction plugin.
I would say they more complement each other. But they are very different. And they both flag the end of the DNS One exclusive era for pro NR. Now Cedar needs to adjust its prices in order to compete with the $99 Clear or $249 Hush Pro. And I wish them to survive. (Yes, I own DNS One as well).

Are you using DX revive or Clear live on a DX bus.
Would it even work? I agree DX Revive sounds awesome, the best out there at the moment IMHO.

I tried DX Revive in realtime and my machine ground to a standstill pretty quickly. It did work though, for a few seconds.

Does Clear work?

I think DNS still has it's place until these other plugins are lean enough or the machines are powerful enough to run them live.
I also quite like the sound DNS gives dialogue, as it is kind of a multiband compressor as well as noise reduction.

I know what you mean about the pricing though!!

No, I have no DXRevive Pro either Clear inserted into my DX Bus slot.
Its still old good DNS One there as its predictable, has zero automation issues and very light on the machine.
And I know what you mean by the sound of DNS. It can bring some magic for dialogues and it's not in its designed noise reduction territory.
It's amazing that we do have in fact a "one button control" on these tools. I found myself eventually not using split bands in DX Revive Pro but only adjusting the main pot and toggling the active algorithm option.
Another great thing about the DX Revive Pro is that its ML was trained also for other languages too (not only English).

Yeah both Clear and DxRevive are Audiosuite only here. Cedar is still king of real-time.

Don't rely on examples and comparisons on a certain popular PT blog. They're way overbaked and not representative of how these tools should be used. Demo-ing on your own session is the way to go.

Apologies to the op for turning this into a noise reduction comparison thread, but...

Thanks for the replies about running DX revive and Clear live. It would be excellent if it was possible to do it one day, but not yet.

I demoed Hush the other day and was very impressed. Obviously it's more expensive than clear. Does anyone have any thoughts how they compare?
I'm going to do a test myself but interested to hear other peoples feelings.

I also wondered if it would be possible to split the processing in DX Revive between the noise reduction and the tonal restoration, maybe have a slider for each of those processes? Perhaps I'll drop them a line about that.

These AI tools are really very good, we are spoilt these days.
