Have you tried it with even fewer RTAS dedicated processors? Rather than 15, try 13, 11 or 9 and see if that helps.

Here is an update on my situation.
I re-downloaded the FM8 Version 1.0.4 (R879) update file, dated 7/7/09 and installed it. I also set my ProTools Playback for 13 host processors. At this point everything is working OK. I noticed that the FM8.dpm (Version 1.0.4 (R879) file that I had removed from my plug-in folder a week ago had a newer date on it that corresponded with an old FM8 Installer file. It would be nice if the people involved with this, NI and Avid engineers, were around to answer questions and help sort these things out.
