Frustrating.
Definitely! If it's over 5mb, upload it using any free service and send the link to : vi [at] digidesign [dot] com.

Thanks!

I was able to dramatically reduce the errors in the offending session by going to the project browser and copying and relinking all the audio that wasn't in the session's local Audio Files folder (my mix had elements spread on multiple drives).

In a session now, too busy to post more, but this is a clue. One audio file was actually on the boot drive.

Ok, good to know!

Can anyone else experiencing this verify your disk allocation and let me know if putting all audio files on a single drive helps at all?

I'll test this personally as soon as I can.

Default Re: DAE Error -9019 & -9031 since PT 8.0.3

Joining this thread in order to gain further knowledge on how to solve for this issue. I have an open support case (01234689) and have attempted an upgrade to 8.0.4 (at the suggestion of Avid) from 8.0.3 for LE with the same results as listed in this thread (i.e. received the -9019 and -9031 errors and PT locking up, having to reboot, restart the session, etc.)

I have, like many others, gone back to 8.0.1 cs2, however, since 8.0.4 is now the last supported rev for Leopard, and I may soon see the need to move forward with Snow Leopard, and lose the ability to go back to 8.0.1 cs2, I'd like to make sure I've done all I can to try and fix this problem with the help of Avid support.

Thanks all.

I too have had this problem both on my home rig and my work rig. But (knock on wood) I haven't seen this problem yet on either system since upgrading last week to Snow Leopard and 8.0.4 (i did the upgrades all at once if that matters)

Some notes on my situation based on what others have said...

-Never used structure

-I have 4 internal ATA drives (320gb, 1TB, 1TB, 1TB) All sessions are on my "Project Drive", samples on "Samples", VI's on "Frostlands" (dont ask) and PTLE on "Brutal" (my startup drive, again dont ask) (no cross-drive audio or video)

-Has happened on both light sessions and heavy sessions

Also since the error said Cannot get audio from the drive fast enough, I thought maybe my drive was old and slowing down so I ran Xbench and every mark was very high except the disk test shown here.

Disk Test 74.93
Sequential 110.26
Uncached Write 98.41 60.42 MB/sec [4K blocks]
Uncached Write 109.91 62.19 MB/sec [256K blocks]
Uncached Read 108.47 31.74 MB/sec [4K blocks]
Uncached Read 128.21 64.44 MB/sec [256K blocks]
Random 56.75
Uncached Write 22.29 2.36 MB/sec [4K blocks]
Uncached Write 130.23 41.69 MB/sec [256K blocks]
Uncached Read 90.21 0.64 MB/sec [4K blocks]
Uncached Read 146.04 27.10 MB/sec [256K blocks]

I dont know if its noteworthy but

Uncached Write 22.29 2.36 MB/sec [4K blocks]

is way below the "norm". Unless of course that IS normal? All of my drives performed similarly in this particular test.

But like I said, haven't seen this in 10.6.4 with 8.0.4....yet. Still I do hope it gets resolved because getting these errors was the least fun i've had in a while.

Any news yet on a fix for this? Anyone find a good solution / workaround?

It's been kind of quiet here for over a month.

Who gave up and went back to 8.0.1 cs2? I think I'm headed there, but thought I'd check first.

I got a little further detail out of avid/digi over in this thread:

http://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t=276550

But not much. It seems they are acknowledging something wrong, but haven't yet been able to repro it in their testing dept so I wouldn't hold your breath for a fix. I went back to 8.0.1, and when I get a weeks downtime I'll give SL a bash on a new drive, plus reformatting all the others.

I think you'll have to be a lot more specific as to the errors you are experiencing, as they're not really that likely to be connected to what we're discussing here. And we can't read your apps list as they're too low-res, plus a list of the applications folder won't cover installed plugins which is clearly vital info for PT troubleshooting.

How can we go back to an older version of Pro Tools?

Add me to the list...
imac 2.66 ghz, intel 2 duo
5GB ram
with 2 FW 800 drives (audio/samples)
Pro Tools 8.0.3
PT Instrument expansion pack
-error 9019 first, spinning ball wait, then -9031
Occurs intermittently

problem occurs in sessions with no audio, using just Kontakt player (alicia keys). Also occurs in other sessions with varying configurations.

I've just upgraded to PT 8.0.4cs2 and haven't tried it yet but it looks as though some still experience this issue with that update as well?

If so, is it generally advised to uninstall and re-install 8.0.1?
