Infinite Loop Playback PT 8 LE..... Gone?

In 7.3 when i enabled loop playback it would loop until i stopped it. Now in PT 8 it prompts me to define the length of the loop.

Is it possible to loop indefinitely in pt 8? You know... for the ancient art of PRACTICING?

Not sure what you're seeing. Ctrl click to put it into loop play, and it loops and loops.. No dialog asking for "length"

Works fine for me...I just put it in loop mode and then select a region. It uses the region length automatically.

Alternatively, you could highlight any specific length you want and it will loop.

I've never seen a prompt for "loop length".

I have never seen that in PT either, I select the section, and it loops as long as I need it to....

Weird. Im at work (7.3) right now and i just noticed that Apple L will loop forever, but the menu item for loop brings you to the prompt. I guess i never noticed or tried out the difference between the 2.

Ill double check when im at home.

You mixed the two functions: loop playback (options menu) and region looping (region menu)

Yes, having a similar problem. Did you find out how to fix it yet? Loop playback worked fine for me for months, I could highlight/select anywhere I wanted to on a track and it would loop infinetly, just how it should. Then all of a sudden it stopped working. If I highlight a certain place I want it to play, it just goes straight back to the start of the song instead. No matter what I try, it still does not work. I checked the options menu, it is still ticked for loop playback. Something weird has happened, does anybody know how to fix please?

i am having the same problem. click REGION and then choose LOOP and a little box will appear in LE8.

panther - is dynamic transport enabled or not?

others - you can loop playback of your selection but pt also lets you quickly 'duplicate' a region with a loop command - saves you from having to hit 'duplicate' 100 times. i can still loop/repeat a section or the whole song so it does seem like confusion between these 2 functions.
