Default Delay Comp On Aux Issue

Hey All,

I've found that with Auxes, when my delay comp size is set to Long, that the compensation actually fails on the aux. I noticed it with the McDSP Revolver which carries 1742 samples of delay. However, when I switch the plugin over to an audio track, all is well. If I set the delay comp to Short, it's actually more in time as it's still compensating properly up to 1100 samples or whatever, but the Aux is where the issue comes into play.

Anyone else experience this/Has avid recognized this bug?

Thanks!!

Matt, I don't think you're alone. I recall seeing a few threads here on the DUC and on Gearslutz where PT9 users were not getting accurate (or any) ADC on Aux tracks.

I just noticed this last night on one of my sessions. With ADC enabled (long), I'm parallel compressing drums. All the drum tracks send to one dry bus, & also sending to another bus which has an API 2500 plug on it. The "dly" values both read zero on those 2 buses. That can't be right? I know that the 2500 plug creates latency - indicated properly on 'audio' tracks.

glad to hear I'm not the only one. I've searched all over to see if anyone else had a similar issue, but never found the same thing. I submitted the bug to digi last night, hopefully this can be addressed soon.

Ohh, I assumed a plug like that would. Let me try throwing a few other plugs on that aux and see if the 'dly' value changes. Regardless of that, Matt, search gearslutz. I remember a big thread about whether or not the ADC was actually working (properly).

everything is working fine here with UAD2 plugins. maybe it doesn't work properly for some plugins?

seems to be an issue with the Long setting, because pt still does compensate properly on auxes up to the limit when "Short" is selected.
