HD Omni Guitar Pedal Path
Hi all - I'm looking for some advice on placing guitar pedals into the record path on the HD Omni.
Do you thing it's better to place the pedals inline (Guitar to pedals to Omni front instrument input 1 or 2) or better to take guitar directly in (Guitar to Omni front instrument input 1 or 2) and then run a separate send/receive channel with the pedals? Last thing I want to do is damage the channel pre-amp from some wacky pedal output voltage. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks! |

Re: HD Omni Guitar Pedal Path
Personally, I would split the signal at the guitar, record the pedal chain(paying attention to level when it hits the Omni) and also record the "dry" signal(group the tracks and mute the "dry" track so you don't hear it while tracking). That way, if something in the full chain doesn't fit the song, you can re-amp with the dry track. If you are in doubt on the final level of the chain, use a DI box and go in at mic level.
