Default MacBook 13 inch, i7, 2.9 ghz, 8gb

Hi Everyone.

I'm interested in the 13 inch MacBook with:

The 2.9GHz dual-core Intel Core i7
Turbo Boost up to 3.6GHz
8GB 1600MHz memory
750GB 5400-rpm hard drive1
Intel HD Graphics 4000
Built-in battery (7 hours)2

And detailed more fully in this link. http://store.apple.com/us/browse/hom...ly/macbook_pro

I'd like to run Pro Tools 10 on it, but I also wanted some general info. I know Macs and Pro Tools have always worked well together. Will Pro Tools 8 and 9 work equally well? Are there any traps I need to be aware of? Have any of you tried PT 10 on this MacBook?

I hope this is posted in the right place. Thanks in advance for any info and suggestions you can offer.

Don

That setup will run beautifully with Pro Tools 10 for sure. I would not rely on 8 or 9 to work.

Good Luck!

Thanks for the reply. Since I already have PT 9 I thought I would investigate the possibility of being able to de-authorize it from my older computer and use it on the new laptop without having to buy more software. But I'd really like to have PT 10 now. BTW....I have a really nice MBP 17" that I got from an engineer in Nashville that does a really good job of running PT 9. If I buy PT 10 can I put it on two machines?

Thanks again!

Don

No Problem!

Yes you can run pro tools 10 on multiple machines but not at the same time as you will need an ilock to start up pro tools.

I have seen some people say 9.0.6 runs on mountain lion but i think springing for the upgrade to 10 is worth it especially for clip gain

Sounds like PT 10 is the best choice! Thanks for the help!
