Dear All

I have never used a DBX or in fact any bass synthesizer/enhancer/steroids - ooh should I be embarrassed?

What would be its post application? Curious as to how/why others are using it.

cheers

General fattening of fx or LFE fx in 5.1 world is what I use it for - it produces subharmonics as opposed to rbass or maxbass so anything that needs a bit of boom. Waves LoAir would be another software alternative

Well I haven't ever heard the DBX hardware so I won't argue! LoAir isn't by any means bad though

Thanks Leigh - works great. I've been missing Lowender since Pluggo went sideways.

The DBX120 is (my) the standard in comparing subharmonic synthesizing plugins.

Lowender, seems to be the closest.
Have you checked the price??

Since this issue has come up a lot, I wrote up a FAQ explaining the difference between Lowender and MaxxBass/RBass. Check it out here:

http://www.refusesoftware.com/faq/11

And thanks for the support for Lowender, everyone!

cheers,
Leigh

Thanks for the heads up on Lowender. I've been looking for a dbx replacement for a while and have only had moderate success with Waves LowAir, maxbass, rbass etc.

Downloading now....
