Default 'Suspend Automation' enabled, resets all my plugin settings!

Hi Guys,

I've had suspend automation enabled for the whole mix session, and just want to enable it again to write a few simple automation moves. Whenever I de-select 'Suspend' in the Automation window, all of my plugin settings reset, and my fader levels change!

Is there a way to enable automation again, and keep my current mix? (without having to print a load of stems?)

FYI Import Session Data doesn't fix this.

While still in suspend, select where you want to write you current settings over all of the tracks/regions, then
Edit>Automation>Write to All Enabled

Then take it out of suspend. Obviously, make sure all your plugin parameters, etc are enabled for automation otherwise it won't be written.

Welcome to the community.

I don't understand what you are doing. You have automation suspended, have done a static mix, but would like to adjust the suspended automation?

Whilst tracking the song, at some point the automation was suspended (we were using SSL Duality, it's likely that the 'suspend all automation' HUI switch was pressed by accident). We were tracking, so I didn't notice.

Brought the session up in my studio, have a gotten to a point in the mix where I need to automate a few things and then bounce it - but whenever I open the Automation window, and un-suspend automation, all volume, pan, and plugin settings reset to unity values.

I've tried deselecting Volume, Pan, Plugin etc from the automation window, then un-suspending automation, with the same result.

Hi Stig,

I'm running tools 11.3 non-HD version, I don't think I have that option available.

Best regards,

Alex

Well, you can always clear all automation with ctl-delete.

Well, then you have to delete underlying automation, or, set automation to off for desired tracks before un-suspending.
