MTP AV & Alesis HD24
I've recently bought a second hand Midi Timepiece AV (parallel version)to use as a midi patchbay and adat sync unit (unfortunately there was no manaul). I have ordered a manual from MOTU which is gonna be a couple of weeks in arriving. So I've beening checking old postings about how people where using this unit to sync adats (HD24 in my case).
The postings I read were mainly dealing with sending MTC to the MTPAV to drive an adat machine via the 9 pin sync port. However, I was hoping to stripe/record a SMPTE track on the Digi001 from the MTPAV and import this track into new protools sessions when I need to. This SMPTE track would be read by the MTPAV and be used to drive the HD24 for what I hope will be perfect sync. Has anyone done this and been successful? Could anyone give me a few pointers in the right direction until the manual arrives? Cheers Andy Bowes Imperial Recording Studio Liverpool
