Default HDX and Heat

Will Heat work on HDX and will it need to be upgraded $$$ to run?

Yes, the Avid engineers said last night that HEAT would be AAX compatible. My understanding was that it will only run on the dsp card and not the host.

It's really hard to say at this point. I think it sounds good right now, but who knows how it will sound in the new 32 floating bit environment. Dave said that HEAT sounds a lot better when you give it some headroom, and that's been my experience as well.

Would have been nice to have the option to run it natively. Ah well.

I agree. it's a nice plugin to have, and I'll miss it if I go to HD Native. The good news is that Phoenix will run Native, so maybe I'll sell HEAT and pick up the license for Phoenix.
