Avid Artist Mix Series Brand New not even 20 minutes it died!!

I downloaded the latest driver 3.1.2

I have a PC Windows 7 pro 64bit.

I have pro tools 11.1.2

I can NOT believe it. Ive UN-installed driver reinstalled it, turned in and off Ethernet in pro tools nothing. WTF?

OVER $1250.00 for this. And I see more guys here complaining this what looks like very expensive junk just fries on them for no reason.

Does the surface appear in the Eucon app? Is your firewall on?

Is this what happened? Artist Mix won't power on.

If so, follow the info in there. Also, what dealer did you purchase from? This may be NOS and have the old Laird input filter choke... If this is the case I would NOT pay for anything. It's a design flaw and should be covered under warranty.

No it was running fine for about 20 minutes I walked away came back and it powered itself off never came back on. I bought it from GC they were great. They are overnighting me another one free of charge. If it happens again Ill flip.

In a month or two Behringer is coming out with a DAW called the X Touch. For around $599.00 which should be able to get it for even less. I was seriously considering to get this instead. The only reason I'm sticking with Avid Artist is because Avid will always support there own in pro tools as they put out newer versions of pro tools. Sure do love Behringers price if it works like I was told by someone at The NAMM show.

both of my artist surfaces had this problem. even when they are switched off, you can smell smoke and then the device can't never start again. you have to send it back to the store. it's a known problem.

my MC control is currently away to avid france...same problem. but eucon does not work with maverick on the newest iMac so...it does not change anything for me.

I have the X32 and the free x32 iPad app is soo awesome problem free with 100% control of the board remotely

I say that to say this - they have made me feel they can push product development and deliver a rock solid app w/o workarounds....and that makes me feel that the x-touch will also be a stellar product that works as advertised.
