Saving a channel strip with comp, eq, sends ect.
Is it posible to save a channels settings with inserts, sends ect. and re-open it in a nother session or copy it in the existing? This would save a great deal of time when setting up a new session or adding fx. a new instrument in a existing session. Thx Jakob

Yes. The thing to do is:
1. Duplicate the track (Alt+Shift+D). 2. In the dialog box, Alt-click one of the check marks to clear them all, then check only the things you want - Inserts and Sends in this case. That prevents the track having any regions, automation, etc. 3. Name the new track something useful. Maybe move it to the top so it's easy to find in the import window. 4. Save, close, make a new session. 5. Chose "Import Session Data" from the File menu (Alt+Shift+I), select the session you just closed, and select the track(s) in it that you wish to import. You can either keep the old session around to import the track(s) from, or make a new session with no regions in it, import the track(s) into it, and use it as a template to import tracks from in the future.

Re: Saving a channel strip with comp, eq, sends ec
It's also a good idea to have a "master" template session from which to draw these settings from. I find it most useful for effects in the form of stereo aux tracks, such as reverbs and 8th, quarter, and half-note delays for vocals (Vox 1/8 Dly, Vox 1/4 Dly, Vox 1/2 Delay, etc.), reverbs and delays for guitars or other instruments (Inst Verb Plt., Inst Verb Hall, Inst Dly). I also have a harmonizer/pitch thing, a Tape-saturation delay thing, and some other toys.
Of course, have some audio tracks on hand that have already been created for drums, guitars, and vocals, maybe with an EQ or Comp plug already there if you think you're gonna use it. It helps to have your buss I/O setup somewhat generically (DrumSub, DrumsComp, Gtrs, Vox Dly 1, Vox Dly 2, Inst Dly 1, Inst Dly 2, FX 1, FX 2,).
