Default Rolling Stand/Cart for ProTools

Hey guys, we're upgrading our room to accommodate a 60 channel Neve 8028 and we're going to go with a rolling stand for the monitor/keyboard/mouse this time, presumably with just the DVI cable runnng back to the G5 in an IsoRack. I've had very little luck finding a suitable cart by google searching... What are you guys using in your studio's? Is there a "standard" that you'll see most commonly in big rooms? Thanks for the input guys -Alex

No takers? I'd imagine someone's gotta have their rig on a rolling stand that they really love that they can make a recommendation for?

Hey Jeff, thanks for the advice! is no one using a rolling stand for their ProTools rigs these days? I'm surprised there aren't more responses. Thanks again Jeff

Depending on what city (or country) you are in, you can go to Ikea and get a great stand for $100.

I bought one for my studio and it's worked out really well. If you click on the link to website you can see it.

The monitor on the stand basically works like umbilical cord and I can move the monitor around the room.

Hey guys, thanks so much for the input, it's appreciated. I'd half expected someone to have built a really nice overpriced stand that was popular in studio's, but it sounds like everyone's pretty much just wingin it with what Ikea and office supply stores have to offer... so we will do the same

thanks again for the help! -AR

Actually, I don't think many people are. If you're recording and editing digitally, you're going to be doing an enormous amount of work at your digital audio workstation keyboard and monitors, and people want something solid, ergonomic and comfortable. In other words, PT is the main event, and not something you roll in on a rickety TV tray. Why not get a nice solid custom desk for your PT rig, and then slap some casters on the Neve, and roll the Neve in on the side when you think you might need it? Since you'll be doing most of your work on the PT rig, it's best to have the PT rig in the monitor sweet spot.

Having a roll around Neve 8028 might be a great idea. That way, your techs can roll it out of the room and back to their repair shop where they can work on in uninterrupted, while you continue the session on the PT rig without missing a beat. It'll also keep all the Caig product and soldering fumes out of your workspace.
