I'v noticed it gets worse if you cylcle round a section of a track for a while. The 003 just freezes , no buttons are availble athough the software(pt8) keeps running.

Drivers maybe???

perhaps try changing the IEEE 1394 controller drivers. And Launch with Run As Admin.

but there should still be other options for drivers already installed on the PC.

Go to Device Manager. Find IEEE 1394 .......

Right Click the Driver shown for the port you are connected to.
Click Update Driver Software.

Browse my Computer

Let Me Pick

on my Asus board it show 3 drivers:
1394 OHCI Compliant Host Controller

1394 OHCI Compliant Host Controller (Legacy) and,

LSI 1394 OHCI Compliant Host Controller.

Yours may show the same, but should show at least show 2.

Right now I am running the LSI 1394 driver. So go through there and try each one. Just choose one and Click NEXT. If no go, try another one.

Always Launch PT with Run As Admin. Right Click the PT Icon, choose Run As Admin.

May not fix the problem, but, Its worth a shot.

I think the new AVID drivers are not very good!!

I just loaded sound forge and selected the avid drivers and the play scroll stopped working!

If I switch back to my motherboard onboard soundmax (asus M2n ) drivers everthing workes well

There brilliant actually.
Right, here is what to do with all sony products.
First you dont need the on board audio in win 7. Use the "windows classic wave driver" instead of the asio digi 003 driver and all the sony products will work fine with the 003.

I'm still using XP.

All these issues started after the update.

Sound forge acting strange with the Avid Drivers and the 003 freezing up and haveing to be powered off / re start PT8 to get out of it.
