Default Midi Drum track faders effects other tracks volume

I imported a midi group of 11 individual drum tracks, and when I move one fader, say the bass kick, it effects the volume of other drum tracks. I have in and out set on each track to receive on channel 10, the device is a Roland JV-1010 sound module on each track. When I solo any drum track, I hear only that track, but again when I un-solo it and move any fader, I hear other drum tracks changing in volume.

Can anybody tell me how to fix this?

Thanks,

Jerry

Default Re: Midi Drum track faders effects other tracks volume

If all midi tracks are set to midi channel 10, then that channel responds to volume controller data no matter what fader you move. You need to either:

- use velocity to change volume for each track (get the drum mix right), and the volume fader to affect all tracks simultaneously (mix the drums with the rest, if any)
- spread your tracks to individual midi channels
- mix the drums within the sound module (if it's possible)

I will however mention that it's been a while since I used a multi-timbral hardware synth, so don't tell anyone I said this...in case I'm way off.
