Default Protools 7.4 won't launch

I have done my research and noticed that it may have to do with IE8. The thing is I don't have IE8 Installed on my computer. I made sure I had deleted all the Internet explorers, and I'm still getting the following message Pro Tools Application has stopped working. Windows is checking for a solution to the problem. I get the error code 0xc0000005. I've reinstalled numerous times, run it in many different compatibility modes, run it as administrator...nothing

I have a windows Vista but i've had the software previously installed on here, and working. It just decided to stop working out of no where. Anyone who can help? Thanks

I don't believe it is possible to remove Internet Explorer completely from the windows operating system. How did you go about that?

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/957700 follow that link it'll show you how to delete it... Do you know how to fix the error I'm getting though? It sucks haha.

From that article:
"Note When you remove Internet Explorer, your previous version of Internet Explorer is restored".
What ever your previous version was is now installed. You cannot remove all versions of IE from the windows installation. So the question is, what version is now installed?
Lots more questions though...

How would I go about seeing what version is installed now? It's not showing anything when I type Internet Explorer and run a search on it. I tried to install IE9 hoping it was only an IE8 issue that was preventing the protools from starting up. Still no luck :/

Go to the Help menu in I.E. and click ABOUT.

More important, help us out with some info on your setup... we don't even know what your avid/digi hardware is. Have a look at the link I provided above.

Sorry about that. I'm running Windows Vista, and im using a digidesign mbox mini 2. Protools 7.4. And I've tried using the search tool. I still can't seem to get Protools to launch. I continue to get error code 0xc0000005.

Let me guess. This is a Windows error not a PT launch error. Just a guess because its in Hex code.

Step one. Disable DEP for PT as described in the PT windows set up tips.

Step two. Run Memtest. Is possible its a RAM error.

I disabled the DEP by doing the following and it didn't work:
A) In the command prompt, type in
bcdedit.exe /set {current} nx AlwaysOff
B) You should get a success message back.

C) Close the command prompt.

D) Restart the computer to apply.

I have attempted to download memtest but I got a virus downloading the memtest. So does anyone have any other ideas that might work, because the previous ideas weren't unsuccessful? Thanks
