Bounce to disk--> white noise
I consistently have the following behaviour using PT 6.4 with a 1gig powerbook (1 Gig Ram). When I attempt to bounce to disk the process begins normally and then approx. 2/3 of the way through (before the bounce process in complete) I get a burst of white-noise at FULL-LEVEL. Imagine that with headphones on!
At which point the only way to interrupt the process is to shut down protools. This started happening randomly, but now it is consistent with any file in any project. Any suggestions? ( I think I need my hearing checked out!) Thanks. |

Re: Bounce to disk--> white noise
I used to have a similar problem in PT5 with OS9, and it turned out it was because I had the DAE Playback Buffer set to the highest setting. It was a real drag, and caused me many hours of extra work and delays, until someone on the DUC opened my eyes.
I don't know if your problem is related, but sounds like it could be. So check under setups>playback engine>DAE playback buffer. Of course, if it's set to default or a lower setting, then that's not the answer... edwardo |
