Default Delta 1010 LT I/O setup question

When setting up the 1010 LT with the Delta control panel should the output of the mixer be set to hardware out 1 and 2 or set to the internal mixer? There is a huge sound level difference between the two setting as far as output level is concerned. All of the PT track outs are set to OUTPUT 1 and 2. Thanks!!
