Buying new hardware
Hi,
I have been thinking about getting a new PC to run my PT10 setup. (version 10.3.5) Found this: http://www.kisildalur.is/?p=2&id=2329 Would you recommend this hardware? Sincerely G |

Re: Buying new hardware
What language is this in? I'm having to venture a few guesses. Needs one more hard drive minimum, and not sure about that motherboard.
Integrated graphics, or a dedicated graphics card? Honestly, you're better off browsing thru the numerous threads of hand-built machines, and just build your own. In my humble opinion, anyway. |

Re: Buying new hardware
100% agree with the above post (sw rec) (Iceland language isn't universal and that is hard to decipher)
If you are buying a new machine get something that is tried and tested and works with PT. There are tons of working configs here on the forums and a quick search will reveal several great configurations that runs PT very well 1400 USD sounds very expensive for that machine and I bet you will find something you know works for less money. Do a search here and look into what other members use and take notes and ask here. I hope you find something that works for your budget and needs Best Regards Chris

Re: Buying new hardware
Hi guys,
I apologize for the Icelandic language there. The machine comes with a SSD drive which I was gonna run the OS on. I already have a 1TB SATA drive for my music work. The graphics card is built into the processor as far as I understand. (Intel HD 4600 graphics) There are few other companies here who sell hardware but I usually try to do business with this company because they are reliable people. :) I know 1400USD is very expensive but that's just the reality we live with here in Iceland, things are filthy expensive. Even if I import the machine from abroad it will be expensive because of high customs. |

Re: Buying new hardware
Well the specs are pretty nice but integrated graphics is Not good as PT have issues with that.

Re: Buying new hardware
Agreed...for that amount of money, you could "roll your own" and go back to work with a proven configuration. Integrated graphics is indeed a show-stopper with Pro Tools.
