Default Deep Sleep and 6.4

I searched, but couldn't find an answer.

I have the small app that 'unloads' PT so the Mac will go into deep sleep. It won't work with the 6.4 version.
Is the guy who made that one making one that will work with 6.4?

not to hijack this thread, but on a somewhat related note, does the deep sleep bug only exist with the dig001? i've been considering an upgrade to the digi002 and am wondering if that will fix the deep sleep bug.
thanks,
danl

Are you talking about DigiSleep at xmidi.com? I'm the author of DigiSleep. I haven't upgraded to 6.4, so I wasn't aware that this version broke DigiSleep. I will take a look at it.

On a side note, I had read that Digi had worked out the deep sleep issue with 6.4. Is this not the case?

And Yes, I believe this only affects PCI based Digi hardware (i.e. Digi-001)

I'll take a look at DigiSleep to get it updated. Thanks for the update.

hi birdFEEDER, thanks for the great little app. DigiSleep, it works fine for me, didn't break with 6.4.

for info: 10.3.3, 6.4, 733DA, Radeon8500, 001, 1GB

I am using the little app called PT Swtich (at least I think that is the name).
It unloads PT so it will deep sleep. A restart it required to run PT reliably, but I would do that anyway.

I'll go check the website you mentioned, but is it a different than the one I"m using?

didn't even know this app existed until this post!

just dowloaded it, and it works fine for me with a 001, 6.4 and Panther. its nice to hear those fans run down without having to shutdown.

thanks birdFEEDER

Hey AMT,

What error message are you seeing? Some generic message or something specific (my error message is pretty wordy)? Also, what is your system setup? Is your Digi device an 001 or Firewire based? I'm note really sure the Firewire based devices suffer from the deep sleep issue, anyone confirm this for me?

Thanks,
birdFEEDER

Simple, just select Sleep from the Apple menu. If you computer goes into Deep Sleep, then all is okay. Deep Sleep differs from Idle Sleep by shutting down all the fans (CPU and Chassis) and kills some voltage to PCI cards. So if you select SLEEP from the Apple menu and get TOTAL PERFECT Silence, then this issue does not affect your Digi hardware (which I'm guessing is Firewire based).

Thanks for checking...
