Default Attention Avid: Get rid of the 100 seconds

This new feature regarding waiting 100 seconds between submitted replies is quite the detriment when it comes to offering help to other users. I usually open a bunch of Tabs in my browser and quickly answer all the questions I can one by one in sequence. Since I now have to wait 100 seconds between replies, it takes me over 10 minutes just to answer 5 posts. Because of this, I just deleted 6 open Tabs in my browser of replies and suggested help to other users. I quite simply don't have the time to wait around just to make a few simple quick posts to try and help other users, in which should only take a few minutes in most cases.

This may have been implemented to stop the spammers, but it's really preventing many of us from posting and offering help to users who need it. Why should we the users who offer help and suggestions to other users be the effect of this? If you want the help on your forum, which we offer on our own donated time, then please get rid of the 100 seconds before submitting replies. It prevents many of us from helping others in a quick and efficient manner.

Shane

Hmmm... I too worked that way Shane, running through the list and opening tabs and firing off posts one by one 'til this one hundred second delay. Now I read and reply post by post. It slows relying down as even when the delay was thirty seconds I'd encounter the countdown. Question is is the one hundred second delay slowing down spammers?

There is an advantage to this one hundred second delay is that it stops hot headed replies. There is time to think twice before posting.

That would require to think first about it wouldn't it?

it's probably to prevent the DUC from being used as a chat room...which is kind of what it's become.

Maybe make this rule apply only to users under a certain amount of posts, or make it 30 seconds. 100 seconds is INSANE and will drive people away!

I thought it is a bug in the forum motor. Now, for a feature, it is bad.
I sign the anti100second petittion too.
