Default Setup I/O with PT11

Hi everyone, super noob here--please bare with me. I just wiped my system and reinstalled everything, and at the time was using PT10. Now I've installed 11, but can't seem to get things routed properly, and I've never had to set things up before by messing with I/O.

The signal path is as simple as it gets: Guitar / Apogee One (newer version) / Pro Tools. There's signal reading on the One's LED, but nothing reading in Maestro or PT. Also nothing via the Apogee headphone jack, but this makes sense given the routing issue here. I've tried youtube videos, had some friends try and figure it out, read the PT11 manual on I/O (which has the I/O pics from PT10, which is different looking). Apogee also has a program called Maestro 2 that routes signal/further complicates things (I'd prefer to bypass this altogether, but felt it was worth mentioning).

Can someone familiar with this product please walk me through what needs to happen here? Thanks in advance.

Did you hit the 'Default' button for ins, outs and buses in PT I/O setup?

Default Pro Tools 11 setup with Apogee One. No sound on playback

Hi everyone, I'm reintroducing myself to PT and having a b***h of a time getting anything working, so please bear with me.

hardware:
Mac running Mavericks 10.9.1
Apogee ONE for ipod/Mac (1 int mic + mono input)
one guitar I'm trying to record with

software:
PT11
Apogee Maestro 2.8.8

I need to know how to get the signal path working correctly. There is no sound on playback. There are way too many variables with this, including:

PT "I/O" window
PT "Hardware" window
Mac "System Preferences" window
PT Aggregate I/O
Apogee "Maestro" window
Mac "Audio MIDI Setup" window

I've been at this for 6hrs collectively, read posts and watched a hundred videos and no one is addressing this basic issue so I don't know if I have faulty hardware or something really simple is missing. I may be routing something inside of PT incorrectly with busses, but I don't think so.

Known data:
input is coming in.
- ONE, Maestro, and System Preferences meters all show signal.
- PT track meter shows signal from guitar.

Tried all the basic stuff:
- restarting PT and Mac
- removing and replacing PT default I/O paths
- PT hardware window, launched set-up app (Maestro), then saved and restarted session.

I seriously have no idea what each of these windows needs to have selected. I'm out of ideas. I've heard that I shouldn't be using Maestro from some people. Someone PLEASE give me a step by step. Thank you!!!!

Hardware setup = peripherals = apogee, clock source= internal, adat, s/pdif or word clock
Playback engine= apogee
H/w buffer what every is best for u less when recording = less latency
You shouldn't need to worry about much else.
Cheers

Hey Mazzie, thanks for getting back to me.

My hardware window doesn't have a clock source option, only "Peripherals", inside of which it only lists "ONE". This hardware window looks different than the PT windows on youtube videos. There is a "launch setup app" button in the hardware window, which opens Apogee Maestro, which is running through ONE, but appears to be only a monitoring aid. There are no other buttons or windows in hardware window.

Under "Setup" < "Session" < "Clock Source" is says "see control panel". Huh?

Playback engine is set to Apogee, not PT aggregate.

There is signal in the meters, but no sound.

Mac sound does come through when I use ONE as sound output through the Mac system preferences.

Ideas?
