help w/ sound settings using mbox1 + int sound card on G5

I have been successful in getting my internal sound card to run to a mixer out of my G5, then I am able to get it to my reference monitors. I am using the internal sound card to be able to have audio for apps while PT is running. One problem. There are a few apps like Safari that I can't change audio preferences.

Can a do a global preference changefor audio on all apps or certain apps without affecting MBOX 1 and PT? Or is there a menu where I can adjust the preferences for audio output for any app? Again, some apps don't have options under the preferences menu.

I am running the MBOX 1on tandem with applications?

G5 2.0 4MB Ram, MBOX1 PT 7.1 MAC OSX 10.4.10, 30" cine display
