Default Sustain Pedal effect plays but is not being recorded.

Hi, I am trying to record a piano track using my Casio WK 225 keyboard in MIDI mode. I can make a recording but for some reason my sustain pedal, which is plugged into the Casio keyboard via 1/4 jack, isn't being picked up in the recording at all. Is there a plug-in or something for a sustain pedal? How can I record keys with sustain effect? I am currently using Pro Tools 11 Trial and will be upgrading to PT 12 soon on a Windows 10 system. Some one told me to turn Midi Merge off in Transport window but that did not help. I also tried recording the piano track as an Instrument and MIDI track, no luck either way.
If it matters, sustain pedal is a BOSS FS-6. Many thanks for any help you can provide! Rock On!
