Default Which Firewire Cable 6 or 4 pin? to iMac

I have a new iMac and realize it has a 800 Firewire, and my Digi 003r has a 400 Firewire. Which of these cables do I need? or recommend something else?

Thank you!

It's the 9 pin to 6 pin you will need. Just got an imac and 003 factory myself :)

Thx, just ordered the FW cable and a G-Tech drive. Two days, I should have them to give it a whirl...... jazzed!

Thanks again for all the support here!

Stupidly I didn't check this out earlier, am about to head home from work with my iMac and my new 003 Factory is waiting at home for me without the right connection. Damn! Just have to be patient I guess :)

In Australia, at least, these cables are surprisingly difficult to find. I've only been able to find one physical store that stocks them: DickSmithElectronics.

Red face Re: Which Firewire Cable 6 or 4 pin? to iMac

I noticed that the new macs are shipping only with FW 800. Has anyone had any problems (track count, etc) using the cabling in question on a 003 or other Pro Tools FW 400 system? I'm thinking about getting a MacPro laptop and wondering how Pro Tools will function using the 800... or is this not a big deal?!??!
thanks.
