Default Getting system sound output through the Digi oo1

Im running OSX and Le through a digi001 on a G4. I would like all my audio to go through the digi oo1, and I got ProTools and Itunes to do it, but my sytem output (warning beeps, web browser stuff, and real audio player) still come through my CPU speaker. I tried going to the Audio/MIDI settings in the Sytem setup thing, but it wont show Digi001 as an option for system output. In the sound setup for OSX, everything seems to be fine. Any ideas?

I can't get to my 001 right now, but from what your saying, it's going to be a configuration issue in either the Core Audio setup or probably the Sound preference panel in System Preferences. You said you looked in there, but I'd double check. If iTunes is working through it, then Core Audio is installed and working. You just have an incorrect setting somewhere. If no one gives you the answer by Wednesday morning, I'll post back when I'm at my 001.

Couple of things:

Make sure you have the latest version of Pro Tools LE and the Core Audio Drivers installed.

To switch from internal speaker to your Digi 001, open your System Preferences app, and click on the sound icon. You should have a choice now of internal speaker or Digi 001

So you've done that, and it works -- you can also make sure that system beeps don't go through your 001 (usually a good idea to protect hearing and sanity) but you want games, DVD player, etc to work with your Digi 001, which doesn't happen automatically -- not a problem.

Open Digidesign CoreAudio Setup in your Digidesign folder. With this app, you can add other applications, (iMovie, DVD player) to the list of applications that will use your digi hardware. Works great.

Hope this helps.

Doesn't work great! Only one app can access the driver at a time. And since when is it possible to route system sounds through there at all? Are you sure about that? Have you actually physically done it yourself? Last time I ever used Core Audio (when 6.2.1 came out), it would only allow applications to utilize it, one at a time, not system sounds.
