Default Is this right?

Maybe someone already pointed this out I really don't care to search at this point...

In September I paid $349 to go from PT M-Powered 8 to PT9. Now I have to pay $299 for the PT10 update. Had I gone PT M-Powered 8 to PT10 it would have been $499. I end up paying an extra $150, really?

Does seem brutal.
