Well, has AVID made an official statement regarding this?

And yes, from what I understand right now, there is no "intent" to do anything.

Dropping the blues in PT11 wouldn't have made sense for them because it wouldn't get people to upgrade to 11 or HDX. Getting people to adapt to AAX has been a long running process.
Dropping them down the line, well that is the concern mostly.

Some clarity officially from AVID would be nice.

So it is basically labeled as unsupported. Meaning it will work, however it is untested and there are no guarantees it will continue to work moving forward.

True, no guarantees.

but my best guess is that you won't have to worry about a thing unless you read a readme document that says all interfaces need a firmware update. As long as interfaces don't need updates, nothing is changing.
