Default Avid and Focusrite in Discussions?

Just saw this little tidbit from NAMM over at Pro Tools Expert. Looks like Avid and Focusrite are in deep discussions. Hmmm.....

Back to the future. Focusrite is responsible for some very successful Avid/Digi products in the past. It plays into Avid's outsourcing of newest hardware strategy they have done with current Apogee and Blackmagic products that have Avid branding. Focusrite will probably do Avid branded versions of their Thunderbolt/Dante audio interfaces. Maybe Avid will finally decouple HD software from it's hardware. Which is something I have heard is "coming soon".

They should! Maybe just do a main Pro Tools. I mean, with all the features, it's coming down to that anyway!

A rebranded HD32R, full Protools Dante integration?
