Re: Sampling Rounding Bug and Workarounds - Pro Tools 2020.3
Hello All,
It's been a while. Wishful thinking, but has anyone checked to see if this issue has been fixed/improved in any way? Also, do you guys think that Apple's new chip transition will eventually force avid to rework Pro Tools and in some way this issue gets fixed?

Hi Evermore,
In perusing the latest release notes, I didn't see a MIDI category in the list of fixes. |

Re: Sampling Rounding Bug and Workarounds - Pro Tools 2020.3
I just installed it today with no problems, and sits alongside 2020.9 & 2019.12 (I always rename old version before installation for obvious potential stability issues, so I can still continue to work and not upset client deadlines). Over the coming week I should find out and will let you guys know. Here is hoping for the best but not holding my breath.

Re: Sampling Rounding Bug and Workarounds - Pro Tools 2020.3
The thing is, this is not product-wide
I've had this experience at various times on some machines and then.... not on others. I really don't know what the variable is, because it's not like we restrict ourselves to certain tempos but... either way it is definitely annoying for those suffering from it |

So has Avid acknowledged this issue? I find it astounding that this has existed since PT12.
I'm 15 days away from my renewal date and as it stands, with the glacial pace of new features I see no reason to renew if they are not fixing bugs like this. |

Re: Sampling Rounding Bug and Workarounds - Pro Tools 2020.3
Hello everyone,
Just wanted to put the word out to those who are considering a separate DAW for MIDI work. Particularly pattern creation & arrangement tasks. NAMELY, being able to copy and paste a drum loop to another location accurately. Here's the scoop: Presonus released a new version of Studio One Artist (most affordable) - Which now hosts 3rd party VSTi's (formerly entry level). In fact, they've been so generous with the feature inclusion, it's really the equivalent of the former Producer version. In other words, it's a full on DAW. And it's only $69.97 + tax til Nov 30th. Even less to upgrade if you have the previous version of Artist. I have a registered download of the previous version that came with my Faderport. So I was able to avail myself of the upgrade price to Artist 5 for $38 (inc. tax). I've worked with Studio One and it is a rock solid performer with way faster start up and session load times. (Model dark mode too) You can also drag n drop an instrument and it automatically configures multiple outs. With 3rd party VSTi support, this is a great alternate DAW to own for MIDI work and make up for PT's lack. And for a nice price. PT will still be by main DAW for overall production because of my user level. But Studio One Artist can be used for the tasks it does well. Like copying and pasting drum loops/MIDI patterns & song sections that include MIDI. lol Very reasonable deal just to have for extra fun. I just did a practice session where I simply dragged SSD5 drums onto the board with the amount of automatic outputs I want, created a pattern, duplicated to various locations, then learned how to insert/cut time between clips for arranging purposes. I can establish my arrangement in Studio One then export the final MIDI file or bounced audio for use in Pro Tools. I'm not switching DAWS entirely because there are a lot of things I like about Pro Tools. I have an established workflow in PT. I don't want to spend too much time relearning every move in another DAW. I just want to be able to copy and paste MIDI clips & sections quickly & accurately.
