Have you checked the "Compatability" list to make sure that your processor/chipset is PT friendly..?

...PS....further to my last reply...

When I first bought MBox2 I took my Laptop into the shop and the guys there loaded PT 7.1 and ran the Demo song - all seemed to work fine - BUT...on taking the gear home, I soon ran into many problems, and found out the chipset wasn't compatible.

I ended up trading the Laptop and bought a PC with a P45G chipset which works fine....there are SO MANY little issues regarding compatability with Digi ... check it all out...Good luck....I hope you don't need to buy another computer, but be prepared for the unexpected...

cheers...

Don't know about the chipset, but the Turion processor isn't supported.

What he said....seriously, the Turion cpu has power management built in that renders it non-compatible for protools. I found out the hard way too.
