Default Ipad V-control?

Have you heard about those two new controller apps for Pro-tools?

http://news.aesshow.com/2010/11/neyr...for-pro-tools/

I will check it out at the AES for sure...

Considering it is from Neyrinck, it will be very good. Can't wait to try it out.

I tried it at AES and it looked great.

If you've got the right scenario, it might be a reason to buy an ipad.

Yes, a very good application, I have V-control Pro. The faders work very well, and respond very smooth, although one has to get used to them. It is a sign of things to come "virtual consoles". The I-pad is physically small, but imagine the same quality of application, running on a 40" horizontal touch screen (light table) that is not only inexpensive, but fully user configurable, and can switch from displaying/controling Pro-Tools to Photoshop, or Final Cut, or After Effects or whatever one likes at the touch of an icon. OSx Lion will support more multi-touch screen.

There 's an interesting article here:

http://www.zdnet.com/blog/hardware/i...estimates/7897

But the real test would be to work with v-monitor a whole day I guess. Anybody dare to try? I wouldn't like to turn off my pro-control for a whole day.

I've been beta testing it for a while now, and it's really a great app. Extremely useful to have sitting next to your keyboard for hitting buttons such as Group and Auto suspend, and I like to have it in flip mode so I can use the faders for aux sends. Really well thought out and fun to use.

I read another tech review that claimed 5.75 to 7 hours with constant use. It'll be interesting to see how this shakes out. I'm still not ready to give up hardware that my fingers know where to find and how to use, but I do like the idea of sitting comfortably with the clients during reviews and tweak time, rather than stuck to my faders.
