Default Virus and Logic TDM?

Can we use Virus with Logic TDM. I have tried and Logic does not seem to see Virus. I have set up the same way that works in PT but Midi is not making it into Virus. Anyone try yet?.......

Default Re: Virus and Logic TDM?

Yes, you can...

in OMS 2.3.8:
create a new setup (if you donīt want to lose your current PT-OMS-setup), then disable everything in this new setup = no devices or interfaces at all, except one IAC-Driver for the Virus. Save new setup & make current.

in LAP 4.7 or higher:
first activate the option "use built in MIDI-drivers + OMS",
drop a virus onto a TDM-Aux-Ch...,
create a new standard MIDI-instrument inside lolgicīs environment & patch it in itīs parameter-box to "Virus1a" (OMS-node...)
drag&drop this Instr. to Arrange-window, & now hit your Keyboard & enjoy.

Advantage:
you have a minimal OMS-setup, only for the virus & you can still use the superior Logic-MIDI-Driver for all the other "real" Instruments.

using PT again:
select your previous PT-OMS-setup & make current.

OR:

run Logic in OMS-only-Mode for all your Instuments = you can use your current PT-OMS-MIDI-setup & youīll be ready.
But then you canīt use the built-in-Logic-MIDI-Driver & working with the environment is tedious.

I think:
Logic is fine, good old OMS is... ok itīs fine... & virtual Virus is a good machine,
but not the 3 things together at the same place & time. Virus always need OMS, Logic not...watch out for emagicīs "virus-killer"- the es-2

thanks...T-Lay...I did exactly that and it works great. I am looking for ES2...all these new toys are great if you can't get your hands on some real synths or if you are me you can fix your playing mistakes in Midi easier than getting one of your keyboard playing friends over to track the part for you. I really like having other players but this can be a great template for them too.
