Artist Control-Can't assign sends

I can't seem to assign sends using the Artist Control. I get through all steps successfully until the end where I'm supposed to press the encoder knob and that should assign the plugin, but it only reverts my selection to the off position, with the green light on. I'm using Protools HD on a Mac Pro using the latest Eucon software and firmware.

Does anyone know what I might be doing wrong? Is there a manual for the latest Eucon software that tells you what has changed? Seems the online docs are from Eucon 2.6 which is pretty old.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
