Pro Tools 2020.9 with UR824 interface

I have Pro Tools 2020.9 installed with a UR824 interface. I have the interface assigned in Pro Tools and in a session can assign the inputs and outputs on the interface. The UR824 has a program called DSPMixFx that is used to change settings on the interface. This program seems to be over riding Pro Tools. For example I can connect a mic to one of the inputs and it works as far as running through the interface, I get signal from the interface to my monitors, the issue is Even though I can see the interface and all the inputs/outputs in Pro Tools I cannot get pro tools to manage the interface. I have tried uninstalling the DSP program with no results, The interface works the same way without Pro Tools open as it does with it open.

Have you gone into Windows Sound Settings and made sure that Windows is using the on-board sound card(Realtek?) as the "default playback device"? When Windows is set to use the interface, it takes over the hardware so that PT can't take control.

Thanks for the reply, yes, I have windows set to use the onboard audio. it makes no difference. Somehow the DSP GUI is controlling the interface, not PT

In many cases, with third party interfaces, it depends on the manufacturer's drivers as to what Pro Tools can do with the interface settings. What are you trying to control on the UR824 using Pro Tools?

Not really trying to control anything, Just trying to get it to work on Pro Tools, I just installed Reaper and it does the same thing, it has to be caused by the 824 DSP GUI.

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers for your interface? A bit extreme, but it shouldn't take too much time I imagine? Another thought, I assume the device is showing up for Windows to use/see? And does it work to route windows audio through? Just making sure the interface is functioning properly.
Did something change in the Mixer interface/settings that is locking out ProTools?
