Default Re: Control|24 and ProControl with Pro Tools 11?

Just adding my 2 cents. Started with Sound Designer 2 in 1987. Upgraded to the first Pro Tools (Nubus) made all 3 upgrades since then. This one is killing me. Guys we've just come out of the worst 8 years economically for recording studios. I just barely made it through and now I'm hit with a 20 grand upgrade, minimum? Please, give me a way to use my 24 fader Pro Control with PT 11 and I intern will make the upgrade to 11 and HDX.

I believe Avid has no fair reason not to provide a 64bit profile for the C24 and ProControl. There is money to be made by Avid. I would happily pay a fee for a software license to allow my control surface (which my entire studio is physically built around) to be usable with PT11. I guess they believe that manipulating the market will allow them to sell more control surfaces but in reality it will hurt their HDX/PT11 sales along with their image. Avid actively chooses to piss off its customers rather than making fair profit supporting the products they have sold already. I too have been a ProTools users sense version 2.01 and have purchased every hardware iteration. Multiple large systems from Nubus to HD. However I feel that enough is enough here. I choose to stay with ProTools HD 10 until this is solved by either Avid or a third party developer. Maybe a third party developer will even finish all the features and buttons on the C24 that Avid apparently couldn't finish for what ever bs reason they have. Shame on Avid.

Avid,
Your efforts to destroy the "used market" for Controllers, Software, and Hardware will destroy your customer base and ultimately AVID. Look at used books, games and other hardware. You can embrace your customer by protecting their investment and giving a bridge to new technology or slowly lose them. You are in a recession, sea change, and poor financial condition ... a deep hole to dig out of. You need to now, more than ever, embrace us before it is too late!
Kindest Regards,
M

Well, the S6 looks great, but I simply can't afford it. I'd like to upgrade to Pro Tools 11 HD, but my ProControl won't work with it. Hmm, I guess I'm going to look at a used D-Command. I imagine that's what a group of others that are in the same boat might do.

And is also a complete step backward from the superb ergonomics of the Control24. The C24 is so poorly designed I would seek another facility if that was their controller offering. A problem, btw, which I never encounter. Control24s abound while the C24 is seen absolutely nowhere.

Craig, you should take much more care with your snarky posts. I'm sure their lack of thought is not appreciated. In this brief one, you compare a much-loved piece of professional gear to a toaster, and make open fun of those users who purchased it, like it and still make beautiful music with it. The only pertinent info on offer is that you digress.. What an understatement.

Not me, stick with PT10HD and PC and do my best not to give Avid any of my money. (add some cussing here)

Even PT10 and Mac 10.8.X works good

I'm still running PT10.3.7 but I don't have HD

Cards are getting cheaper by the day it would be a pretty nice tracking setup then mix natively in PT11

I honestly can't believe this.

Avid has let me down so many times... but even for them, this is truly disgusting.

I'm also a little shocked no one has found a workaround.

My loyalty really paid off.....
